Winter Squash Harvest

dspen

Good Morning Everyone!!

Last night I picked all of my winter squash. All of the vines were dying back, so we picked all of them.

My question is the curing time. I read someplace a few years ago that you would leave the squash sit for several days in the sun and then gently brush any dirt off and then dip each squash in a bleach solution. And then store in a cool place such as the basement. The squash would last many months.

Am I on the right track? Because when I am searching this site, I cannot find anything about a bleach dip.

Thanks for any help you can give!!

Diane
