quick headspace question

Hi,

I just canned my first batch of plum jam for the year. I think I was mixing up canning with freezing and left too much headspace in the jars -- the jam is about 1/2" below the bottom of the screwed on ring. I processed them in boiling water for 10 minutes, and all the lids "popped" about a minute after coming out of the water bath.

I realize now that I should have left much less headspace (1/4" -- measured from the top of the jar, not the bottom of the lid, right?) Since these lids seem to have sealed, is this batch ok for storing? I guess it's good I can only make jam in small batches -- I'll fill the next ones better!
