I was so excited when i found this online. so i order some just got them today. So dissapointed they don't screw on right. tried two of them same results. made for regular mouth jars. They are made from tin n feels rather cheaply. Haven't tried pouring salt or something like that to see if it leaks. next photo will how it looks on jar.

We had those for years, we used to use them for sugar.

As u can see to the left its kinda higher than it should be.

They came with special jars, with wider spaced grooves.

Yeah if you can find some of the old Mason jars - the ones the zinc lids worked on - they would work on them. I have a couple that fit on some of my old blue Mason jars. With experience you can just look at a canning jar and tell if it is the old groove pattern or not.

Good to know, Thanks Dave n myfamilysfarm. Also when spout if down there is a gap from where it goes down which means not really air tight.
