ISO recipe for Chow Chow (Canada -style)

I've been looking for a canning recipe for Chow Chow like they make in Canada (Nova Scotia). I've found a lot of Chow Chow recipes from approved sources, but they all have various veggies in them, such as cabbage and cauliflower. Bernardin site doesn't have it either.

If I remember correctly, it tastes pretty much like a sweet relish. I'm looking for one where the only veggies are green tomatoes & onions like in the link below but suitable to be canned.

Link below is to several previous discussions about chow-chow and several different recipes are included.

The basic problem seems to be that the label means many different things. What one calls chow-chow would just be plain pickle relish to others, picalli to others, chutney to others, etc.

The recipe you linked to is just plain old Green Tomato Relish and may be canned as it is written since it is a straight vinegar brine. Just use the standard pickled relish BWB processing time of 10 min for pints adjusted for altitude. NCHFP and the BBB both have very similar recipes.

Dave, thanks so much! Great news that I can "can" that recipe. Never thought to look up green tomato relish!
