Canned Three Bean Salad too crunchy

Hi,
Just pulled out a jar of 3-bean salad that I canned last month and the beans (green and wax) are a bit too crunchy for our taste. Can I reheat the prepared salad more to soften it and recan them all? Any issues with that?

Thanks!

I'd just reheat when you open each jar (and add oil, adjust seasonings, refrigerate) rather than spending time and energy and new lids recanning. They may soften up as time goes on too.

Did you add Pickle Crisp?

If it's been that long, no, you can't reprocess them.

About all you can do is what ajsmama suggested and reheat to soften when you open the jar.

Malna - I thought the 24 hour rule was only for underprocessed/underacidified foods? If it was processed properly, then couldn't you reprocess it any time (though quality would suffer), just like you could remake a soft jelly?
