| Food safety and handling make sense. Besides canning and freezing we also eat them fresh, in salads and cooking. here are a few ways to make them safer. I have learned a few tips and I want to mention here. POTASSIUM PERMANGANATE: It is an old time vegetable wash. It kills a lot of bacteria and also can wash the pesticides from the fruits and vegetables. Just ad tiny amount to water until it shows PINK/PURPLE color. Then soak your fruits and veggies in it for10 to 15 minutes. Then just remove them, place in a colander. This not only disinfects also can get rid of pesticide residue , Your fruits an veggies will last even longer. There are simple ways to wash and disinfect fruits and vegetables. |

| Most of time, just a good washing off with good water will do the same thing. If you don't think your water is 'good' enough, then use distilled water. |
