Hi All!

I got many slicing cucumbers in my co-op basket and I was thinking of making pickles. I was wondering what would be best? Bread and Butter or spears? I realize that making pickles out of slicing cucumber can turn out soggy but I was going to soak them in lye in very cold water over night, then after rinsing them, soak them in ice water. For the spears I was going to make a fermented batch using a polish recipe I found. Any advice you can give me would be much appreciative. If either of those wont work, what are your favorite relish recipes?
