| "just Lime" saw it at grocery other night.... I wont buy regular bottle lemon or lime juice cause it contains "sodium benzoate" The organic type, lemon or limr juice supposedly does not have it.....
Wish I could find a coupon for it to try it.... gotta get busy doing something with all my cherry tomatoes....uh...... Thanks jean |

| Never heard of it and can't find info on anything by that name. But the guidelines for canning tomatoes call for using "bottled lemon juice" (bottled lime is also acceptable) and all the testing was done using the ReaLemon brands. The primary reason is because of the stabilizers in it so it doesn't fade on the shelf and because it is consistent pH unlike other brands and real lemons. There are tons of discussions here about all the reasons behind the requirement - one just down the page called 'salsa verde' and I linked another one below. Given the very small amount of SB contained in the 2 T called for in most recipes if there is any associated risk it is exceptionally minimal. It's your choice to abide by the guidelines or not, your risk to take. Dave |

| Do you mean the powdered lemon/lime/orange? I used to buy all 3 - but can't find it in the stores anymore. Add 1 packet with a yellow packet of artificial sweetener to a quart bottle for a "weak" lemonade. I'd want to read the ingredients before I attempted to can anything with it. |
