This time it's Ball liquid pectin. Noticed a small Mom & Pop store I haven't been to in a while had it, $2/box but it expired in August. So how soon should it be used? Thought I might try it in pepper jelly since the ones I made with powdered pectin are a little cloudy.
Follow-Up Postings:

So how soon should it be used? ASAP. It doesn't have the shelf life of powdered. Dave

I figured I shouldn't buy a lot - but is it worth even buying 1 to try 2 months after expiration? I'd rather spend a couple bucks more and have something that I'm sure of. Maybe I should suggest to the manager that it be discarded?

I had some ( Certo)several years old. I threw it out last night. Esp after I read" sodium benzoate" on the label. so if the new stuff has it too, I will pass when I see it on clearance...... Got some Mrs Wages pickling spice half price at Meijers tonight.... I hesitated because all it said was "spices" as the ingredients... That I am suspicious of...... Prob should stick to making my own... since I have all the ingredients..... Jean
