safety of hot peppers after a frost

We had a week of nightly killing frosts followed with warm days and although the pepper plants have died, they still have some nice green hot peppers on the plants. Is it safe to pick these to use or should I just throw them out... Technically the peppers have been frozen then thawed out a few times..didn't know if the fact they were still on the plant made a difference or not..they are still firm and no obvious signs of spoilage.
