Thought you all might find this funny

I have had pressure cookers and canners for any number of years. Some of mine are 30 or more years old...Now to the funny part...during the course of my lifetime my dear husband has always had a job that required frequent moving, and even my job often required moving so I moved around often and a lot...The only thing that I ever hand carried (well in my purse) was the pressure gauges to my cookers and canner...I used them so often that I was afraid they would get lost or over looked in packing material so I hand carried them and have never misplaced a single one of them.

Having moved many times myself, I truly understand your why.

Not at all peculiar - I've moved a lot also and that's exactly the kind of thing I hand move myself.

At last count, I had moved 33 different times during my life. And every since I bought a canner (still using the first one) I have done exactly the same thing. It is also stored in my tiny tilt out drawer in front of the kitchen sink or in a kitchen window sill when I haven't had the drawer.

Mine (weight, not gauge) stays inside the canner.......always!
I don't move much, but have been known to have the coffee pot, coffee, creamer and filters in the passeger seat! LOL

Yup, Deanna, that would be me, gotta make sure I know where that coffee pot is!

I've only moved four times in my adult life, all within a 20 mile radius, so my pressure canner is still in the original box that Grandma got it in. The lid is upside down on the canner in the box so the gauge is inside the canner itself.

I still get it checked by the Extension Service, thankfully they still do that here.
