sprouting mung beans

I found mung beans in my cupboard and tried to sprout them. I was pleasently surprised when most started to sprout. However, they got fuzzy.

Was I supposed to do something with them to prevent molds etc.

Larry, did you start by rinsing/washing really well? Till water was running completely clear? The suggestion then is to continue to cold water rinse, drain every 8-12 hours through the sprouting process so at least twice a day.
