How do I pot several types of heaths/heathers together?

I am new to heaths/heathers. I was hoping to pot several types in one indoor container so that at least one of them was always in bloom. I understand that outdoors, these plants can spread, which would not be great for a container setting with several plants. Is it possible to pot them as I had hoped? Will younger, smaller plants stay small if the pot is full or will this just kill them eventually?

Most heaths and heathers (Erica or Calluna species and cultivars) will not grow successfully indoors. Insufficient light, not enough humidity and too warm temperatures without sufficient cold periods for dormancy. Try houseplants instead.

Even if you keep the pots outside, it’s not a good idea to plant heathers in containers.
