Bought my first heathers

I just bought my first heathers ever. They came in 6" pots. I'd like to plant them in a group around a new dwarf alberta spruce. How far apart should I plant them from eachother and from the spruce? Or, should I plant them in an area by themselves away from the spruce? Also, how big do these actually get and how long will it take for them to reach maturity? Thanks!!

Which heather varieties are they? Some are more upright, some are low and spreading. They like full sun, don't plant them too close to the spruce.
