| This spring I started over with new callena and erica (I had originally planned to expand my heather garden - but all my established heathers died during the winter). So my new heathers all look great - except one - I skimmed through the forum and in the message about the sick heather, cranebill replied with information about fungal diseases. This one plant certainly has it. So I should dig it out and replace the soil? Anything else? My concern is it was growing so close to the other heathers. Is there anyway to protect them? I guess I should add, when I prepared the soil, (which is naturally sandy and slightly acidic), I added peat moss and bark mulch. Does this increase fungal problems? |
Follow-Up Postings:

| Systemic Fungicide. Just mix per instructions with water and apply. Now and again in Spring just as growth begins; then once more, if needed, in early summer. |
