| I am relatively new to growing heather. I bought several Calluna Vulgaris from Rock Spray and their catalog says my cultivars are supposed to grow to approximately 20 inches tall. My plants are now 2 years old and while they appear healthy and flower nicely, they are only about half that height. My question to the experienced folks is - if you prune down to the old flowers in spring, will these plants grow to 20 inches tall in one growing season or is that the maximum height of an unpruned plant? |

| It takes several years to reach maturity and you should ALWAYS prune off the dead flowers or you will have a very scraggly plant. |
