Just Starting! Sorta Nervous!

We have a small Upstate SC hay farm and want to grow and sell heirloom vegetables and start a roadside market on our place. We just ordered several varieties of vegetables from Baker's and I have ordered a catalog from Southern Exposure. I am learning so much from reading this forum and I'm sure I will be asking lots of questions including how to save the seeds from year to year. I am hoping, between hay customers today, my husband can help me start a compost bin from old palletts. It will be a learning expereince as has been my learning to landscape our koi pond and shady creekside garden. Thank you all for sharing your experience, suggestions and knowledge. Any suggestions you can offer a newbie will be vastly appreciated.

Your local Cooperative Extension agent may be of help. If there's a farm co-operative in the area, contact them. Visit the local farmer's market and make yourself known to the other growers in the area. Ask questions.
