Does anyboby know a commercial source for Barnes Mountain Cornfield Bean? I grew Tobacco Worm last year and it was excellent. Now I want to try this one but can't find it. Heard it's very good.

Here's a link to a thread from this Heirloom Forum and down near the bottom you 'll see Gardenlad, Brook Elliot, referring to Barnes Mountain Bean.

Why don't you contact him about it?

If you enter that bean at Google you'll also come up with a mention of it by Bill Best and you can contact him as well if you wish.

Carolyn, who just happened to remember it from when she was part of that interesting bean thread.

Here is a link that might be useful: Barnes Mountain Bean

Both Bill and I have Barnes Mtn. Cornfield seed.

You can get my seed list by asking for it (I'm at BrookBarb@aol.com). Bill can be reached either through the SMAC website (www.heirlooms.org), or by emailing him at bill_best@heirlooms.org.

Barnes Mtn. is a great bean that runs Tobacco Worm a very close second in terms of flavor. And like Tobacco Worm is doesn't turn woody or fibrous. If you liked the Tobacco Worm you will like the Barnes Mtn. Cornfield.
