| Yes, I grew it last year, and I was tickled to death because I actually got 3 melons off of my plant! I bought the seeds on a whim, since I figured it would NEVER do anything in my coolish climate, and then to top it off, 2008 was overall a VERY cool spring and summer here in SE Michigan. The vine was of just average size, overall, but didn't seem to get quite as large as some of the other C. melo cultivars around it, and the leaves stayed a bit smaller as well. It probably sprawled out about 6 feet each way. The flavor, by the way, was similar to honeydew, although it wasn't very sweet, NONE of my melons were particularly good last year, due to the cool weather. |
