1900s garden

I have a 1900s house and am interested in planting a period garden. So much of what I read about period gardens predate this time. I am interested in:
books
period gardens that exist from the 1900s--either NE, Atlantic seaboard or SE
heirloom plant companies from which I might order

Thanking members in advance,
MartyLan

Dig around on the link and find some old varieties. Nice idea to plant old stuff.

Here is a link that might be useful: Old garden lit
