Where can I find Violet de Provence Artichoke seeds?

Hi all,

I'm stymied in the hunt for seeds for the Violet de Provence Artichoke, also known as Violetta di Provenza, or Poivrade. It is apparently a very tender heirloom variety that can be eaten raw. I've been directed to a few sources outside the US (in the UK, Holland, etc.) but none who will ship to the USA (I think we may have restrictions on seed imports). I also can't seem to find a straight answer as to whether this is the same variety as the "Violetta di Chioggia" and "Violetta Precoce". Any advice on straightening out the name question, and where to locate seeds would be wonderful!
Thanks all,
Samantha
