Am I too far from Iowa to order from SSE?

I'd like to sample some of the pepper transplants from the Seed Savers Exchange. They ship via UPS. Will the trip from Decorah, IA to south PA be OK for the seedlings? Aren't they going to be too long in the dark and tossed around?
I just want to make sure...
Thanks.

| The shipping of live plants is a pretty mature industry. I wouldn't worry about a couple of days in the dark, or any tossing around. Assuming SSE folows typical industry standards the plants are packed pretty well. I've ordered live plants from as far away as Oregon and recieved them with no problems. I would specify a later delivery than now, though. My concern would be freezing temps in the 3-4 days the plants would take to reach you. |

| Thanks. Yes, they let you choose a shipping date between now and the end of May. |
