Glass Gem Corn - getting some air time

Klippenwald

This has been making some waves on the Internet of late. It's called Glass Gem Corn, an ornamental variety. If you haven't seen it yet, the pic is below. Expect to have something about this making a thud in your email inbox soon.

The articles claim that it is an heirloom variety, and that it is edible.

Anyone ever heard of it, and are the assertions true?

    yes, and maybe.

Do a little digging and you will find several threads in various forums discussing it. A few people grew it last year.

Thanks. I'll search again, but this site's search engine turned up exactly nothing the first time around.

http://secure.seedstrust.com/ Lots of info on the net, but all refers back to this one. Looks quite ornamental and all corn is edible. This type is used for cornmeal and like uses.

Look at the native seed/search website.
