Hubbard Squash

One of my Hubbard Squash broke from the vine.Can I cook and eat it before it has cured?

You can try it. If it is real green, it might work as a summer squash. If it is pretty ripe, like in, you just about can't perforate the skin with a fingernail, then you should try it as winter squash.

I had a hubbard break off also. Is there any way to ripen it successfully? I googled the problem and one source said to cook it immediately and another said to allow it to ripen in a dark place, 55-65 degrees. Any suggestions?
