Moon & Stars Watermelon - When Ripe?

Having never grown watermelons of any type, especially Moon & Stars, how do I know when they are ripe and ready to pick? I have 3 melons on my vine. One is about the size of a large football and is a little deformed. The other two are about the size of a large, oblong basketball. All three seem healthy. Any advice would be appreciated.

    I pick watermelons when the tendril which comes from the same node as the fruit in question turns brown and begins to dry up. It's always seemed to work for me. I can't tell a thing by thumping.
