Heirloom tomatoes

I am just starting to get into heirloom seed. I have grown Jersey Giant paste tomatoes for a few years now but am looking for a good slicing tomato that is red. I would like a larger fruit if possible but since I live in zone 4 which can be a real challenge I need one that is early.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

The heart shaped tomatoes are fairly early and large. Anna Russian and Reif Red Heart are good ones. Almost all of my RRH's this year are over 1 lb.

I used to live in Z4 and didn't have much sun. Getting any tomato to ripen was a challenge. Any tomato can be sliced and put on a sandwich. Don't count out the great early smallish red ones.

Thanks for the replies. Over the long winter I will certainly be checking out the suggestions. edweather I know all about the challenge of ripe tomatoes. I usually have to pick my biggest gathering green at the end of the season.
