I grew greasy beans this year and have saved seed from some that were isolated from my other beans if you or anyone else are interested.

What is a greasy bean? My dad used to plant a type of green bean that he referred to as greasy backs. Is that the same thing?

Most green snap beans have tiny "hairs" on the pod. Greasy beans are "hairless" or slick or greasy. At least that is the explanation I have heard most often.

All of these postings are in 2004. Is there anyone with greasy beans alive in 2010? I just accidentally ran into 'greasy beans' and am looking for seeds. Fusion recommends Striped Hull Greasy Cutshort. (One small bean with an extra long name.)I went to Bill's site but it has all old dates also.

Bill is still there and he is still selling beans. I got some Barnes Mountain beans from him this year. They are not a greasy bean but they are exceptionally good flavored.

Bakers creek has greasy beans. I can't remember which variety.
