Lesions on Heirloom tomatoes

Can anyone tell me what is causing my heirloom tomatoes to have lesions on some of their fruit. The lesions are located on the side or near the top of the fruit, and go as deep as the seeds. It appears like a dry wound vs. a wet wound.

Thank you

Typically the dry wound is caused by a deficiency in boron. Boron is essential for cell development. I have often found seed cells woody and empty of seeds; most likely an incomplete pollination.

A complete soil test can provide some direction of fertility needs. Imbalances may need correction. Finding such symptoms on a single plant should not be a major concern.

Did the plant display any other visual symptoms?
