I have been looking for info about a tomato variety called "French Tree" but I haven't seen any info on it.

    Are you talking about Cyphomandra betacea ? This is a semi woody shrub or tree that originated in Peruvian Andes. It is from the same family as tomatoes. It has a reddish fruit and is commonly referred to as French Tree Tomato along with Cape Tomato and Tamarillo. Maybe this link will help.
