want to identify a kind of green onion.

Hello all, to start, a gardener I am not. My thumb is far from green. LOL

In any event I am attempting to find a type of green onion and only know it by the name my mother and grandfather called it. They called the plant a Toppie or Toppy.

It of course had the white of the onion as the root, the green hollow stem as with all. However, it has what I would describe as a miniature garlic growing at the top which one would save to replant. As I remember it, if left to simply fall to the ground they essentially planted themselves....

Any ideas???
