In my limited experience, I think they are OK ... it seems to me that it can take a few weeks from when the seeds crack until the roots are growing and the leaves sprout ... I think you could leave the other seeds in the refrigerator longer, letting them sprout a bit, and maybe by then your seedlings will be coming up.

In my experience they will send root first and it will take a while until leaves will show up. I also have seeds just germinated from ETH- really looking forward to seeing it bloom...
anyway I will leave mine for little longer in their pots and will transplant to individual cells when I see some signs of root development. Still will keep it covered and by that time they might go outside in the greenhouse.

Thanks, both of you, for your advice. I decided to go ahead and plant the refrigerated seeds that are just beginning to put out roots, and put them in the cold vegetable storeroom in our basement until they sprout. Since there's a window open in there, the temperatures are much lower. I guess next time I should just start the seeds in dirt to begin with, which would probably save me a lot of fretting!
