People seem awfully quiet on the issue, Mary, but I'll go out on a limb here and say that I do like spots. I don't typically go for them in the nurseries -- I'm more of a picotee/dark eye gal there. But at home in the garden, when a seedling blooms for the first time and has spots, I'm usually pretty happy about it. I've got a lovely cream double with light freckles in bloom right now, but generally I prefer the bolder spots like the one in your photo.

I'll take the con side then, as I've never liked a plant based on spots. ET has something they call freckles which I did like though. I'm more attracted to picotees, dark nectaries, shape of petals, and solid dark blooms. I think that the dark spots on the white flowers as in the picture above really give the plants some pizzazz in the landscape, but I have yet to purchase a spotted plant.
