It's Spring (I think)...

Today is March 26, the day before Easter. Almost all of the snow has melted and my hellebores are finally showing flower buds after several years in the ground. I hate to "clean them up" by removing leaves, etc. around them in case Mother Nature has another surprise in store for those of us (living along the CT coast)who were overwhelmed with snow this season. What's the best approach?

Clean them up now before they start their rapid growth.

Thanks, bruceNH.... dinner is done, the dishes are put away, everyone is downstairs watching TV, but I just came in from cleaning up my plants. Thanks for the tip. They're ready to blossom.
