I have purchased niger from Seneca Hill Perennials as well as other perennials a few times and have always been happy, though I did not make a purchase from them last year.

These are not 1 gallon perennials, I purchased 3 inch Helleborus niger for a reasonable price and they flowered that year. When I purchase plants, any kind of plants, I like buying small plants at a reasonable price. Though you do need patients to grow on.

If I had interest in any plants from Seneca Hill Perennials and had doubt about the purchase, I would email them and ask about the plant or plants of interest.

Ditto (on Bruce), I usually don't expect them to bloom the same year. However, probably the next year, you'll be rewarded. As Ellen states, these are "mixed hellebores" officially, however, of the 5 I've purchased, they're all quite true to the descriptions (maroon, yellow with spots, blue-black,etc).
As I recall, these are approximately one year old plants.

Thanks for your responses. I placed a small order and received the plants on 3/24. The x hybridus & lividus were in 6" pots and the lividus is now in full bloom. Multifidus was in 4" pots and were just emerging from dormancy and are now in full leaf. Amazing what warm temperatures and grow lights will accomplish! Thanks again!
