Finally the first 2 are starting to bloom.

The new h. n. macranthus has what looks like a pinkish bud down at the soil level but it hasn't budged in 2 weeks. Meanwhile, these guys are a-blooming away.

This one is an h. niger. Don't know the exact variety.

I got this one last year and I already forgot the name. Oh well, it's a beaut. The contract between dusky petals and golden center is very dramatic. I hope it starts facing up more as it opens.
