helleborus from parks not showing

I got two h.orientalis from parks on sale last fall, they arrived timely and had plenty of time to settle before first deep freeze, -the plants were quart size, one a bit larger than the other but both very healthy looking with 2-3 leaves and a small crown, approx. 8-10" tall.

I planted them in a huge oaktub in indirekt sun ( sun in winter) , yes good drainage too.

I've out taking a look at them now and then, and cut the foliage off once it browned too much, I can see the crowns but nothing is going on.

the crown is firm but looks a bit tired.

I am going to take a picture tomorrow and try to post it here but can anyone think of obvious pit falls I might have missed out on?

Should I feed it?/What?

I have feeling that something is up since we are in march already and we didn't have particulary harsh winter...

When should I declare it dead and ask for replacements.?

Regards. k
