This year a lot of local nurseries are carrying it but after looking at that beautiful foliage, I'm wondering if it is hardy in zone 5? I can grow H. niger and the oriental hybrids but I think it was foetidus that croaked in the winter of 03-04.

The bloom is sure entrancing - and so is the price! Locally it is $14.95, White Flower Farm is asking $18.95 and another local nursery wants $24.95 (for big plants in bloom). I wouldn't mind psending a few bucks but not for an annual.
