| I am new to Hellebores, so the first thing I noticed is that they're expensive! Then, I found seeds on Ebay for less... has anyone bought these? Is $10.00 for 16 seeds too much?
Instead of planting them in the spring, I think I'll wait until the fall (~Sept) and plant them directly into the ground. It seems like if they can self-germinate, then why can't I just plant them into the ground and skip all of the moving and transplanting mess? Or, do you think they'll rot over the summer since they take so long to germinate? Please give me some feedback on my plan....I need it! Thanks! |

| Seems expensive, depends on what you're getting, if they're hand pollinated rarities, or species, then perhaps but I would suggest you would find seed far cheaper or for free, elsewhere on this forum. Read the forum chains on germination and you'll see that getting them into soil,(pot or openground) without delay is the best policy, keeping them until the Autumn is not the best idea.
