My hellebore is in bloom! I planted it in the fall, and got a great deal on it, wasn't sure what to expect exactly, but was happy to see white flowers on it. It's a little low to the ground, but seems ok. Some leaves look mottled, but I could trim them off. Just wanted to share.

One of my favorite plants :) That must be rewarding, especially in a Z4 with your longer winter. Give your hellebore a little time and those flower stalks should become taller, make the flowers easier to appreciate. In this mild climate, some of mine begin blooming in December, h. foetidus as early as Halloween. I do remove the previous seasons foliage from the oriental hybrids when they begin to bloom, feel free to take off those battered leaves.

Thanks for the advice. I do read and learn alot, but some things are vague. I'll remove those leaves. How far down do you remove foliage? Is it half back like with other perennials?
