Veeta, hellebores initiate a burst of root growth in Fall and the optimum time to move or divide them is immediately prior to this spurt of root development.

It can take two or three years after planting for hellebores to reach their full potential, I'm not sure that a site with morning sun, protection from afternoon heat is the reason for yours not yet blooming.

When you planted, did you have the plants crown at approximately the same depth at which it was growing in the container and not considerably deeper? Sometimes planting the crown too deeply can result in foliage, no flowers - but again, if your plant looks healthy it may just need more time.

Thanks--I am willing to wait it out. When I started researching and saw that they can take more sun than commonly thought, I immediately jumped to that conclusion. With additional googling, I have seen that they often take a few years. I can't remember much about planting it, so anything is possible.
For my climate, fall makes sense if I get impatient.

Good news--my golden sunrise surprised me by blooming after it had fully leafed out! I got two gorgeous blooms, so I am confident it will do better next year.
