Hellebore Seed has Two Sprouts

I noticed a hellebore seed that has two sprouts - two plants coming from one seed. Has anyone here seen that before, and do you think the two plants will grow up to have identical flowers?

RE: Hellebore Seed has Two Sprouts

It is a phenomenon known as polyembryony. They were most likely pollinated by the same grain of pollen, so they should be identical. It is a common occurence in some species. For instance, in beets (Beta vulgaris) you can see upwards of 5 embryos germinating from a single seed. I have only seen it a couple times in Helleborus.
