Heronswood Hellebore Open

I found myself in the Philly area a couple of weeks ago and was able to visit the Heronswood Hellebore Open in April. It was very well run and the weather was great. Good selection of Hellebores and other perennials. This was a local article that was written later - sums it up pretty well.

If you find yourself in the Philly area - here are the next few Opens, they won't be focused on Hellebores - but it's interesting to go to just to walk through the Fordhook Gardens.

Burpees may have bought the name, but it is impossible for anyone fortunate enough to have visited the original Heronswood Nursery to consider what exists in PA as 'Heronswood' and the garden opens as even remotely comparing to those celebrated at the irreplaceable Kingston, WA garden. Ball is just trying to get mileage off the cache of the name.
