Hey, its never to late to plant! Its still early planting season for z5-6.

Usually early spring planting gives more time for a new plant to settle in. Espcially since there is usually more rainfall in the spring. Just keep an eye on watering in the summer till it gets established this year.

I am not familiar with rose royal heritage, but its just a variation of the usual hybrids that are easy to grow (usually:))

The Royal Heritage is a a seed strain of Helleborus x hybridus developed at Park Seed/Wayside Gardens by a former employee, John Elsley. The plants you will receive are very small(2 1/2 inch pots) and there is no guarantee as to what color the flower will be, when they bloom 2-3 years hence. If you have a color preference, best to check with your local nurseries to see what is available and in bloom. Even some of the mail-order companies that advertise certain colors, don't always provide those colors, 1st, 2nd or 3rd time around! (Voice of experience!) If mail-order is your only option, check pineknotfarms.com. They have a seed strain of x hybridus that is comparable to Royal Heritage and you can select various size plants.
