I am collecting ripened seeds of my orentalis hybrids.
1. Can I give them six weeks of "refrigerator winter" now or do I need to let them rest before I do that.

2.How long do I let them rest?

3.Once I plant them after the refrigeration, about how long will it take for them to germinate?

Thanks for your help.

RE: hellebores

You can get much information from previous threads, but here is my two cents: 1) give them a period of about 6-8 weeks at room temperature, then give them 8 weeks of cold in the refrigerator, and plant them.
OR 2)plant them where you want them, sit back, and watch them germinate next March.

Each method requires that the seeds have access to moisture during most of the germination period. At this point, I strongly recommend the second method unless you plan to grow them on under protective conditions through late summer and winter. Either way will work, but the latter is simple, easy, and from my experience foolproof.
