White Flowers Not Turning Pink

| Can anyone tell me under what conditions a white h. niger would turn pink? I bought a h. niger macranthus mostly because the picture showed it turning to beautiful shades of blush when it aged. But when it bloomed, it just turned straight green after the white phase.
Is that because it got pollinated too soon? Or does the amount of sun on the plant influence the amount of pink it will show?
Thanks,

| Like you I have a similar problem .I bought adult Hellebore plants in many different colours however all seedlings flowering first time this year the flowers were green. It is in a good position shade/sun moist an area 6ft x6ft .Plenty of other flowers and bushes in garden . How do I get them to have a colour other than green . Love the plant , want a garden full of them but very dissapointed by the green flowers . Any advice please ? . |
