| Just purchased this one yesterday and the leaves are huge. Will these leaves always be this huge? I have hellebores niger and some of its leaves are getting quite large. Why? |

Many hellebores have large leaves, and this is particularly the case with H x hybridus (though I'm not quite sure what Winter Queen is). It is often the case in the US that purchased plants are only two years old. Each year for the first several years the size of the leaves increases. This is one reason that they should be planted perhaps 36 inches apart if possible... Fortunately, this does not continue perpetually and by the third or fourth year the leaves tend to be a mature size. |
