Could they disappear from the garden from April to October ? Otherwise, I love them! (and currently miss them...didn't move any from last garden)..and I admit, I'm thinking I might have to find one..just one...to plant for that Dec through March flowers.

I love mine, but it is true that they don't have bright flowers. I like the white ones best, but they seem fade to green rather quickly. Of course that may be only perception as they do stay white for a couple of weeks.

If they're typical orientalis hybrids, the foliage looks like a small clump of blackberries to me. I grow these for the flowers.

But some of the new hybrids like H x ballardiae 'Pink Frost' have much more attractive foliage with white markings on the leaves. I haven't tried to grow these...but they look nice and I might try one for the foliage sometime, the flowers being a bonus.
