| We have had a very wet spring and summer this year and I just noticed that two of my beautiful hellebores have the stems rotted off at ground level. These were my first and biggest ones. They are planted on a slope, but I guess the 3 inches of rain at a time were just too much. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening again? Brenda |

| If you have clay soil, amend it with lots of compost. The roots need excellent drainage. We also had lots of rain and I see foliar disease from it. |
