I saw some gorgeous double yellows at Pine Knot nursery in their spring open house in 2006. Colors ranged from a light to medium cadmium yellow to a sort of Nanking yellow or some even in the light ocher range ( hope you can understand these colors. My wife is an artist, so look up on google for watercolor paints). The cadmium colors are a clear yellow, and the others tend to take on a browner tint. I saw none in the canary yellow ( slight green tint) color though.

I purchased some yellows in the past from a different company and they weren't really yellow, only an Ivory, with a vague hint of yellow.
I purchased some yellow singles earlier this year from the company referenced above, but will have to wait until they bloom to determine the actual hue.
I suppose it is all relative anyway and color perception is always in the eye of the beholder! :-)
Do you ever purchase plugs from North Creek/Blue Stem Farms?
They introduced David Culp's Brandywine Series and there are some interesting colors in that group that I would like.
Have not purchased from them in the past and know nothing about the quality of their plants.
