Where do I get Hellebores?

Never heard of these until last week. Would like some for winter. Do I get these at most garden centers or should I start from seed? Where is a good place to get seeds? What kind of soil and can I plant these in window boxes or will they do better in the ground?

There are lots of on line sources for hellebores. Some are listed on this site, next to the postings, such as Pine Knot Hellebores. You can get seeds from them also, I believe. Growing from seed is a process that needs lots of patience but is very exciting once your seeds germinate. Growing instructions for seeds have been posted previously, just do a search. Good luck!

For what it is worth, the best Helebores I have ever received I bought off of eBay. I would have to look up the name of the seller, but they were lush, packed well and not a sickly one in the lot. If you want the name of the seller, I will gladly look them up for you.
Take care,
